Five teenagers aged 13 to 16 have had their charges upgraded to murder after an alleged fatal stabbing near Wollongong, south of Sydney, earlier this year.
Emergency services were called to an address on Saturn Crescent in Dunmore about 3pm on January 28 after 25-year-old Jack Westren was found with serious stab wounds.
He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Initial investigations revealed that the 25-year-old was allegedly stabbed during a fight with multiple people who left in an SUV.
The vehicle was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and seized for forensic examination.
A 15-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman were charged with murder at the time.
Yesterday, five teenagers, including a 13-year-old boy, two boys aged 14, a 15-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old boy, were all charged with murder.
The teens are all set to face children’s court on separate dates later this month.
