A MARRIED couple appeared in the dock today charged with harassing their neighbour by watering the plants too often.
Prosecutors claim Sandra Durdin, 58, and Trevor Dempsey, 62, flooded an alleyway by persistently over-watering flowers outside a home in Chingford, east London.
It’s also alleged the couple rigged up dangerous barbed wire on garden fencing and set up ‘props and dolls’ as part of a year-long campaign against Joanne Shreeves.
Durdin and Dempsey appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court in Bow today.
They pleaded not guilty to a charge of harassment, and will face a trial next year.
It’s alleged they were aiming to “cause distress” to Ms Shreeves between June 2020 and August 2021.
Durdin, who is also accused of destroying a £1,350 CCTV camera belonging to Ms Shreeves in May 2021, pleaded not guilty to a charge of criminal damage.
