This week, Megyn Kelly faced criticism from MAGA supporters after she remarked that Donald Trump “has cheated on every wife he’s had.”
Kelly, 55, made the bold claim after being asked for her thoughts on the President’s past comments about former National Counterterrorism Center director Joe Kent.
In March, Kent resigned in protest of the war in Iran, and during the same month, Trump criticized him for remarrying “fairly quickly” following the death of his first wife, Shannon, who died in combat.
The former top counterterrorism official tied the knot with Heather Kaiser Kent in August 2023, more than four years after he became a widower.
‘Talk about a glass house!’ Kelly began on the Hodgetwins podcast on Friday. ‘I mean, he [Trump] met Marla Maples while he was still married to the mother of his children, Ivana.’
Kelly commented that the thrice-married President was “proud of the affair” and the media attention it garnered in the 1990s.
She transitioned from discussing Ivana Trump to addressing Trump’s current wife, First Lady Melania.
“If you think Trump’s been faithful to Melania, that’s great: You’ve got bigger issues than I can solve here,” said the former Trump supporter, before being inundated with critical comments on social media.

‘Megyn Kelly has always been an opportunistic snake,’ far-right influencer Laura Loomer wrote while resharing the clip, while also calling Kelly a ‘hooker.’
‘Megyn Kelly goes whichever way the wind blows. She now sees Trump as a loser and wants to jump ship,’ added University of Missouri professor and author Karen Piper.
‘It’s just impossible to go lower than Megyn Kelly,’ wrote conservative commentator Ben Hart.
Other right-leaning X accounts offered more of the same, with one even urging the First Lady to ‘please sue Megyn Kelly for these egregious lies about Trump cheating on you.’
No record of Trump being unfaithful to her – or his second wife, Maples – exists.
The Daily Mail has approached both Kelly and the White House for comment.
Kelly broke with the President in February over the US’s strikes against Iran, along with other conservatives like Tucker Carlson.

When he resigned, Kent claimed Iran posed no imminent threat to the US and that officials started this war due to pressure from Israel and lobbyists.
His first wife, Navy chief cryptologic technician Shannon Kent, died in a suicide bombing during combat in Syria in January 2019.
Kent was confirmed by the Senate after being appointed by Trump last year.
Trump said he was ‘not a fan of’ him after his resignation.
‘His wife was killed – he remarried fairly quickly. His wife was killed, and I felt badly for him,’ the President said at the time.
