According to Vogue, the 2025 theme will delve into the “distinctive style of Black dandies from the 18th century to today.”

This year’s theme celebrates the Costume Institute’s new spring exhibition: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. Per Vogue, “the exhibition — which explores the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora — will be arranged by 12 characteristics of Black dandyism.”
