A North Carolina mother has been accused of choking a superintendent after being called to a meeting over concerns about her daughter’s fighting.

Mariah Hector, 33, was taken into custody and is facing charges of trespassing along with two counts of assault related to an incident involving school staff at Randolph Middle School on May 5, where she reportedly turned aggressive towards three employees.

Hector had been called to the school after her daughter had allegedly been involved in a fight, but Hector became ‘argumentative.’

Michael Smalls, who is part of the school staff, had instructed Hector to leave the school grounds, but she allegedly pushed past him and forcefully shoved the school’s principal, Jennifer Schroeder, against the wall.

Hector then ‘grabbed Area Superintendent Jennifer Dean with both hands around her neck and attempted to choke her.’

The arrest affidavit states that Hector was eventually restrained by other staff members. However, the confrontation resulted in her having ‘visible signs of injury around her neck.’

Dean, while having remained conscious, had reportedly experienced a difficult time breathing.

Hector was arrested before she was released on a $5,000 bond, according to online records.

Yet, Hector said that her angry outburst was far from the full story.

She told WSOC-TV that her daughter had been bullied by other students several times since September.

‘I was angry because I have been trying to prevent this from happening all year,’ Hector said.

‘My daughter was jumped and her hair was pulled out of her scalp, it was by a number of girls and a boy and also they threw a trash can on her.’

‘I came to speak to the administration [and] I felt like they just brushed it off and didn’t take it serious.’

Before Hector’s alleged outburst, a no contact order between her daughter and a group of students was issued as well as a change in her class schedule.

But despite the efforts, her daughter was again allegedly attacked on the day of Hector’s arrest.

‘I felt like nothing was gonna happen, like it was just basically catty, you know, teenage behavior,’ Hector said.

The same day of Hector's alleged attack, 20-year-old Trinity Nixon appeared at the school and was charged with second-degree trespassing after yelling and cursing on school grounds

The school was placed on lockdown during the incident, WBTV reported.

Later that same day, 20-year-old Trinity Nixon appeared at the school and was charged with second-degree trespassing.

Nixon had allegedly entered the school, after employees informed her not to, and began yelling and cursing.

The alleged physical and verbal attacks were only weeks before Principal Schroeder was suspended with pay.

In a message to parents, Dean said that Schroeder was ‘away from campus’ during end-of-year testing, WCNC reported.

It remains unclear why Schroeder was suspended with effect on May 20.

Dean said in the message to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school community: ‘At Randolph Middle School, we remain focus and committed to our shared goals and students.

‘We have strong systems and dedicated people in place to ensure continuity and support for our staff, students, and families.’

Randolph Middle School did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
