Hundreds of Sydneysiders have been warned to evacuate part of the city immediately after unrelenting rain breaks river banks.
NSW SES issued an alert on Thursday for people in some areas of Camden to leave by 6pm.
The evacuation order applies to Exeter Street west of John Street, Milford Road Camden West, and Peter Avenue between Onslow Avenue and Belgenny Avenue.
Other streets included in the warning are Cawder Rd between Barsden Street and Murray St, Sheathers Lane, Kirkham Lane, Menangle Rd near Racecourse Rd and Poplar Caravan Park.
It comes after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a number of flood warnings for rivers along NSW’s east coast as the region is battered by unabating rain.
More to come.
