The father accused of pushing his estranged girlfriend and their 5-month-old daughter from a 15th-floor balcony had brought flowers to her apartment that day in an apparent attempt to reconcile, sources said. The visit came after he had been accused of two separate domestic violence incidents.
Angel Carrasco, 31, allegedly became enraged when the reconciliation effort broke down and shoved Nathaly Ramirez, 23, from the balcony as she held their baby, according to law enforcement sources. Ramirez died in the fall, while the infant was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition and later listed as stable.
Carrasco allegedly fled, leaving behind the bouquet he had apparently brought to repair the couple’s troubled relationship. Police have launched an intensive search for him.
Carrasco had already faced two assault-related domestic violence cases earlier this year. In one case, he was charged with third-degree assault on Jan. 5 after allegedly slapping Ramirez and leaving her bruised when she confronted him about speaking with a former girlfriend, sources said.
Three days later, he was charged in another incident involving Ramirez. Sources said he allegedly broke into her apartment and waited for her, leading to a burglary charge. That case was later sealed, and additional details were not immediately available.
Sources also said Carrasco had been accused of sending threatening text messages to a former girlfriend.

His criminal record also includes at least two other arrests: separate cases involving false impersonation and marijuana possession in 2016. The sources said he has additional sealed cases.
Police were called to the apartment building at 2550 Olinville Ave. at about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, where they discovered the aftermath of the deadly incident. By Wednesday, authorities had released a wanted poster identifying Carrasco as the suspected attacker.
Photographs from the scene showed a diaper and a baby blanket lying on the ground outside the 18-story building in the hours after the fall.
Carrasco is the father of the injured child, according to sources. The baby remained in stable condition at Jacobi Hospital, where Ramirez was pronounced dead following the horrific incident.
Neighbors remembered Ramirez as a “very sweet” and devoted mother. According to her LinkedIn page, she graduated from Bronx Leadership Academy High School and studied psychology at Baruch College.
Ramirez worked at Lishawn Consulting in Manhattan. A company representative called her “a rising star,” describing her as hardworking, tenacious and dedicated to reaching her career goals.
