On October 10, 2014, Malala Yousafzai, a 17-year-old from Pakistan, and Kailash Satyarthi, a 60-year-old man from India, were both honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. They were recognized for their courageous efforts to champion the right of children to an education and protection from abuse.
