Though the Cubs haven’t flown the W for a playoff game since 2017, fans on Clark Street said this ballclub has the talent for a deep playoff run.

“The energy is super high, and everyone seems to be really positive and confident that we’re going to sweep this series,” said Cubs fan Hannah Webb.

“My guy, PCA, love PCA. He’s always there making plays, and Seiya’s on a nice little home run streak. (Jogger: Let’s go baby!) There we go. Everybody’s excited,” remarked Cubs fan Kevin Connors.

The Wild Card Series against the Padres secures Wrigleyville businesses with at least two additional home games, extending the busy period around the Friendly Confines.

Sluggers Bar and Grill is preparing with additional staff and security, and they are coordinating with other local business owners to ensure neighborhood safety.

The city says it’s also prepared with its own plan to secure the area around the ballpark.

Gallagher Way opens just after 11 a.m. with gates opening at 12:08 p.m.

Watch the first two Wild Card games on ABC7 Chicago Tuesday and Wednesday.
