President Trump debuts new brown hairdo — and people are shocked

President Trump’s famously recognizable hairstyle appeared to take a noticeably darker turn this week.

Trump, long associated with his swept-back golden-blond hair, was photographed with a look closer to brunette after Air Force One touched down Friday ahead of his weekend trip to Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

The shift in shade quickly became a talking point online, with social media users seizing on one of the rare moments when Trump seemed to depart from his signature hair color.

“The hair????” journalist Yashar Ali posted, capturing the reaction of many observers.

“If I hadn’t pulled the photos from Getty Images myself, I wouldn’t have believed it,” Ali added.

Jeopardy champion Hemant Mehta joined in with a joke, writing that “If everyone keeps mocking this, there will be hell toupée.”

Another user suggested the timing made sense, musing that with “Summer’s almost over,” it was “a natural time to switch from bottle blonde to brunette.”

Author Annie Lamott offered a more approving take, remarking, “I love it. So youthful. Very Pierce Brosnan.”

On Saturday, he went out golfing with Fox News anchor Bret Baier and several others, but donned a red “Trump was right about everything” hat that obscured his new look, making it impossible to tell if Friday’s shocker was merely a one-off.

It’s unclear how long the new look will last.

While Trump rarely messes with his iconic look, there is precedent for the move. Back in 2019, the president visited a church service in Virginia and debuted a new slicked-back hairstyle, somewhat similar to California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) look.

That new hairdo disappeared quickly, and Trump was spotted later that day with his familiar look once again.

Even before his meteoric rise to the presidency, Trump’s hair had been the subject of widespread public speculation. Many suspected it was a wig or that he had some sort of scalp reduction procedure — something referenced in divorce proceedings from his late first wife.

During his 2016 campaign, the famously germaphobic Trump appeared on the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and let the suspicious comedian muss up his hair to prove that it was indeed real.
