Luigi Mangione evidence bombshell as diary entries are revealed

Luigi Mangione’s explosive diary entries have been made public, shedding light on how he allegedly carefully plotted the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson months before the December incident in Manhattan.

In startling court filings submitted on Wednesday, prosecutors disclosed that Mangione was found with a red diary at the time of his arrest in a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, following a five-day manhunt.

The diary outlined Mangione’s plans for the murder and his reflections on how the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski made errors during his own campaign of terror from 1978 to 1995, as stated in the documents.

In one entry from August 15, 2024, Mangione writes that he is ‘confident’ about his plan – four months before the shooting took place – and that it is ‘right/justified.’

‘I finally feel confident about what I will do. The details are coming together. And I don’t feel any doubt about whether it’s right/justified,’ his scrawling writing reads.

‘I’m glad-in a way-that I’ve procrastinated bc [sic] it allowed me to learn more about UHC [UnitedHealthcare].’

The same diary entry appears to suggest Mangione had previously considered a different target – detailed as ‘KMD’ – before deciding upon UnitedHealthcare, and its CEO.

‘KMD would have been an unjustified catastrophe that would be perceived mostly as sick, but more importantly unhelpful,’ he writes.

‘Would do nothing to spread awareness/improve people’s lives. The target is insurance. It checks every box.’

It is unclear what KMD refers to.

In another diary entry dated two months later on October 10 2024, Mangione allegedly notes a countdown to the day of the attack: ‘1.5 months.’

He goes on to write about the Unabomber’s actions and considers that a similar plot would distract from the message he was trying to send – and would not fare well with the public.

While Kaczynski ‘makes some good points on the future of humanity,’ Mangione muses that ‘he indiscriminately mailbombs innocents.’

‘Normies characterize him as an insane serial killer, focus on the act/atrocities themselves and dismiss his ideas,’ he writes.

‘So say you want to rebel against the deadly, greed fueled health insurance cartel. Do you bomb the HQ? No. Bombs=terrorism,’ the note reads.

‘Such actions appear the unjustified anger of someone who simply got sick/had bad luck and took their frustration out on the insurance industry, while recklessly endangering countless employees.’

Instead, Mangione allegedly details his own plans to ‘wack’ the CEO of the healthcare giant at the company’s ‘parasitic bean-counter convention’ as it ‘doesn’t risk innocents… The point is made in the news headline ‘Insurance CEO killed at annual investors conference.’’

In another scrawling handwritten note shared in the new court filing, Mangione apologizes ‘to the feds’ who spent days hunting for him.

The 27-year-old writes that ‘I do respect what you do for our country’, insists that he acted alone and warning them that his tech is ‘pretty locked down.’

‘I do apologize for any strife or trauma, but it had to be done,’ he adds, according to the documents.

He also appears to point investigators to the notebook saying the ‘straggling notes and TO DO lists… illuminate the gist of it.’

Despite his alleged confession, the 27-year-old has pleaded not guilty to both state and federal charges in connection with the December murder.

Federal prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty if he is convicted.

The 82-page document reveals new details about the hours leading up to the shooting, revealing that Mangione may have allegedly stalked Thompson the night before.

At around 7:47 p.m. on December 3, prosecutors allege Mangione was seen walking on West 54th Street and Sixth Avenue, adjacent to the Hilton Hotel.

He appeared to be talking on a cellphone.

While he walked along, Thompson was seen walking past him in the opposite direction, the documents reveal.

This may well have been a close call for the healthcare CEO.

The next morning – December 4 – Thompson was gunned down outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on his way to UnitedHealthcare’s annual conference.

Haunting surveillance footage captured a masked man walking up behind the 50-year-old father-of-two and shooting him dead at point blank range.

The suspect then fled on foot.

Mangione was finally arrested five days later and charged with the murder.

The shooting prompted a reckoning around America’s healthcare system and fueled a string of copycat threats against other top executives.

Since his arrest, Mangione has developed something of a cult following – with supporters flocking to his court appearances in downtown Manhattan and a legal fund topping $1 million.
