Saturday Night Live mocked Donald Trump with a sketch about what it called “gay dementia” during the Halloween episode, which also featured the return of Tom Hanks as David Pumpkins.
James Austin Johnson again portrayed the president, interrupting the popular Pumpkins sketch shortly after Hanks appeared alongside returning cast members Bobby Moynihan and Mikey Day.
When David Pumpkins was asked why he had returned, Johnson’s Trump appeared and shouted: “Midterms! Boo!”
“It’s me, Donald Trump, your one true god, pausing an SNL skit yet again,” he joked before poking fun at the decision to revive the Halloween favorite.
“You know, I actually have a lot in common with Mr. Pumpkins: We both appeared in 2016, we’re both very loud, very orange and, frankly, very annoying!”
The sketch then turned to Trump’s recent campaign-trail comments, including his apparent fascination with the physiques of several Republican candidates.
“That’s something I’ve been doing lately, admiring men’s a**es. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, just that I might be gay,” Johnson said in character.
“They’re calling it gay dementia. Dementia, short for ‘the men should show me their butts,’” he added.

Johnson’s Trump then referenced the “odd noises” the president has made during recent speeches.
“Remember that? What the hell was that? Probably a soul trying to leave the body,” he said, adding that the noises were acceptable “if you were cool with the Epstein stuff.”
The character next complained about the midterm polls before making another joke about Trump’s bruised hands.
“They’re saying Texas is turning purple, just like my hand. If it goes blue, then just like my hand, I will leave it for dead.”
The sketch ended with references to Nicki Minaj, a recent Trump campaign surrogate who has been floated by some as a possible White House press secretary, as well as former Press Secretary Katie Zacharia.
The Trump character said he had also admired Minaj’s backside before adding: “She’s got quite an a**, if only it were on a man, perhaps then I could admire it.”
Before exiting, he joked that viewers needed to vote Republican or the Democrats would do “absolutely nothing, just like the last time.”
Trump has drawn attention in recent weeks for a series of suggestive comments about Republican candidates and their physiques while campaigning ahead of the midterm elections.

Trump has raised eyebrows with several suggestive remarks about Republican candidates and their physiques, including his compliment to Ohio Senator Jon Husted for having a “great a**” at two campaign events
Trump initially launched into an unusual discussion of Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s physique, saying he had been “studying” the politician’s backside.
During one of his complimentary speeches about Husted, Trump told an Ohio rally that he had been struck by the former college football player’s build.
“I’m standing over here, and I don’t do this with men very often… I started examining his body because I didn’t know he was a great athlete,” Trump said.

“And I looked, and I watched up and down. I looked at his a** and I looked at the whole, and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these, like, claws. And I got it. You are a great athlete.”
Trump returned to the subject on Tuesday during another speech about Husted’s appearance, this time at an event in North Carolina.
He told the audience that he had been “studying (Husted’s) body” and described it as being “like a piece of steel.”
“I looked at his a**, and then I looked at his legs. I said, ‘His a**, sh*t, it’s like, it’s like a pile of muscle,’” Trump said. “I tapped him on the shoulder, and it actually hurt my hand. He’s like a piece of steel. I said, ‘This guy’s a monster!’”
Although Trump told the crowd that complimenting other men was “not my thing,” he has frequently commented on men’s appearances while on the campaign trail.
“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before: Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss. Stand up. That’s hard to miss,” Trump said at a Michigan rally attended by Minaj
“Well, maybe I should be upset he didn’t talk about my asset,” Republican Senator Ashley Moody said of Trump at his Friday rally in Florida
He called Georgia GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson a “very handsome, distinguished, beautiful-looking guy.”
Trump also described Republican Senator Tim Sheehy as a “handsome guy,” Kentucky Republican congressional nominee Ed Gallrein as “beautiful” and Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker as a “good-looking sucker.”
He later offered a similar compliment to Minaj.
“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before: Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss. Stand up. That’s hard to miss,” Trump said at a Michigan rally where Minaj was present.
Minaj stood, waved to the crowd and appeared to accept the president’s remarks about her rear end.
The comments even prompted Republican Senator Ashley Moody of Florida to wonder why Trump had not praised her “asset” in the same way.
Speaking Friday evening at Trump’s rally in Daytona Beach, Florida, Moody described questions she had received about the president calling the rapper’s backside “beautiful.”
“What do you think about the president talking about Nicki Minaj’s asset? Really? I mean, Byron and I don’t even know what to say,” Moody told the crowd, referring to GOP gubernatorial candidate Congressman Byron Donalds, who was also at the event.
“Byron’s probably like, I’m just glad he didn’t ask about my asset. I mean, we were the only two on the stage with the president.”
She continued: “Well, maybe I should be upset he didn’t talk about my asset.”
The remarks have sparked controversy online, with Democratic lawmakers criticizing the president’s behavior as inappropriate for someone holding the office.
During this midterm cycle, the president has repeatedly traveled to Republican strongholds while avoiding battleground areas with fewer supporters of the MAGA movement.
Trump spent much of Saturday morning at his golf club near his Florida home before taking part in five scheduled tele-rallies.
He is due to travel to Iowa and Kansas on Sunday for what are expected to be his final in-person rallies.
Trump is also scheduled to hold tele-rallies on Monday and Election Day, when he is expected to be in Washington.
