On Wednesday’s episode of MSNBC’s “The Briefing,” Senator Jon Ossoff from Georgia called for the resignation of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. due to what he described as the poor handling of his agency.
Host Jen Psaki commented, “The turmoil surrounding the leadership of RFK Jr., who is the current Secretary of Health and Human Services, is well-known to our viewers. Notably, more than a thousand HHS employees have urged him to step down. You were against his confirmation, yet haven’t publicly asked for his resignation. Has your opinion changed? Should he resign?”
Ossoff responded, “He absolutely should resign, and he should never have been confirmed in the first place. He’s completely unfit for the position. In a rational Senate, he wouldn’t have even been considered. He has repeatedly endorsed unfounded theories and misinformation throughout his public career. What he is doing at HHS is reckless, jeopardizing national security. The degradation of the CDC has weakened our defenses against serious disease outbreaks, endangering lives. Secretary Kennedy must resign.”
