On Sunday night, a small plane crash in Ventura County resulted in both occupants being critically injured, according to local authorities.
The single-engine aircraft, shortly after 6 p.m., descended into a drainage canal located in Camarillo, as reported by the Ventura County Fire Department on the social media platform X.
Emergency responders swiftly extracted two individuals from the wreckage, who were then transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, the fire department confirmed.

Remarkably, the aircraft avoided colliding with any homes or structures during its descent.
A dramatic image released by the county fire department captured the aircraft overturned, highlighting the severity of the crash.

“Firefighters are remaining on scene to address and mitigate any remaining hazards,” stated the Ventura County Fire Department, ensuring continued safety and security at the crash site.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the crash, the fire department said.
