Sofia Vergara has made her first public appearance since the publication of ex-husband Joe Manganiello’s memoir Bloodlines, which includes his account of the difficult period he says he endured during their marriage.
The 54-year-old actress kept her look relaxed during a Wednesday outing in Los Angeles, pairing a vintage-style gray Nirvana T-shirt with loose-fitting blue jeans and black strappy sandals.
The Colombia-born star completed the outfit with sunglasses and a gray suede Bottega Veneta handbag.
Vergara, best known for playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on Modern Family, appeared cheerful as she left a Southern California spa. She did not respond when photographers asked about the allegations Manganiello made in his memoir.
The actress has faced renewed attention since Manganiello’s book was released earlier this month, with the actor sharing several deeply personal claims about their former relationship.
Our News Outlet has contacted representatives for Vergara for comment.

Manganiello and Vergara married in 2015, and their divorce was announced in July 2023 after seven years together. In Bloodlines, the actor wrote that the relationship became “devoid of any emotionality whatsoever” while he was coping with an autoimmune illness.
According to Manganiello, his condition began to deteriorate after the couple’s wedding and brought a range of debilitating symptoms.
He described experiencing abdominal pain, an ulcerated digestive tract, fever, skin rashes, headaches and extreme fatigue.
The actor said he lost approximately 60 pounds before undergoing emergency surgery in 2016 to have part of his intestine removed.
Manganiello also wrote that the ongoing pain contributed to the end of his 13-year period of sobriety. He said he turned to substances including pain medication and marijuana after prescribed treatment failed to adequately control his symptoms.

He further claimed that his health struggles led to suicidal thoughts and that he gave away a firearm because, in his words, he “kept thinking about” harming himself.
Manganiello alleged that Vergara offered little emotional comfort during that period, claiming she “refused to hug him even when he begged.” He also said she made fun of a Chihuahua named Bubbles, whom he had adopted in an effort to lift his spirits.
The former couple also disagreed over whether to have children. Manganiello said he wanted to become a father, while Vergara indicated that she did not wish to have children.

In his memoir, Manganiello said he would be open to starting a family with fiancée Caitlin O’Connor, 37, “if that’s meant for” him, after moving beyond his health struggles. The couple was pictured in Las Vegas in 2025
In a January 2024 interview with El País, Vergara said she did not want to become an older mother, explaining that she felt it would be “not fair” to the child.
Vergara, who is mother to son Manolo, 35, from her past marriage to Joe Gonzalez, told the publication that she ‘had a son at 19’ and was ‘ready to be a grandmother, not a mother.’
Manganiello pushed back on those claims in a July 2024 Men’s Journal piece, saying: ‘There’s been a lot said in the press about me wanting a family. That’s simply not true.’
He said he and Vergara ‘did try to have a family for the first year and a half.’
Manganiello in his book says he would be open to starting a family with fiancée Caitlin O’Connor, 37, ‘if that’s meant for’ him, having put his health issues behind him.
He added: ‘For seven years I thought I was going to be dead the next week. The world has opened back up to me.’
