CHULA VISTA —
A 42-year-old man has been arrested and accused of shooting another man with a shotgun during an argument in Chula Vista Thursday night, police said.
The incident was reported about 11:30 p.m. by a woman who said her husband had been shot in their motorhome on Shinohara Lane, which is near Brandywine Avenue, Chula Vista police Sgt. Anthony Molina said.
Officers found the victim inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a hospital and was in critical but stable condition, Molina said Friday.
The shooter had fled, so officers surrounded the area in an effort to look for him, Molina said.
The suspect, an unsheltered resident of Chula Vista, was found several blocks from the motorhome. He was arrested without incident and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
Investigators determined the two men knew each other and had been in an argument when the suspect shot the victim in front of his home, Molina said. Police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects.
