A Sydney dentist who sexually abused three young women seeking work at his clinic made them sign a secrecy document threatening a $500,000 penalty if they spoke about what he described as his “training” methods.
Maged Fouad Farag, a father of three, operated a thriving dental practice in Rockdale, in Sydney’s south, with his wife Neven working across reception and administration in the family-run business.
From the outside, the couple appeared to be living comfortably, with two high-end cars and a four-bedroom waterfront property at Sylvania, valued at about $4million, where they continue to reside.
But that polished image unravelled on September 10, 2024, when a woman in Australia on a student visa went to police and accused Farag of sexually exploiting her inside his clinic.
The woman, referred to by the Daily Mail as AB, had applied for employment with Farag before being drawn into what she believed was training for a medical position linked to a new venture he claimed to be launching.
Across multiple meetings, Farag told AB to remove her clothing for what he called a compulsory “skin check”, took nude photographs of her, touched her breasts, moved his fingers around her genitals and sucked her nipple.
Before the sessions took place, Farag made AB sign a confidentiality agreement stating she could be liable for “$500,000 or higher” if she complained or disclosed details of his so-called training techniques.
Once AB reported Farag to police, two other women came forward with accounts echoing her allegations, including one who contacted authorities after reading a Daily Mail report about his arrest.

Almost two years later, the Daily Mail saw Farag’s wife at the family home last Saturday, and photographed him reporting on bail to Miranda police station, where he was allowed to leave by a back entrance.
The full details of Farag’s offending can be revealed for the first time after he pleaded guilty to five counts of aggravated sexual touching and one of intentionally recording intimate images without consent.
Following the 61-year-old’s guilty pleas on May 14, the Daily Mail has obtained access to an 11-page statement of facts detailing more than five years of sexual abuse that took place in his clinic.
Egyptian-born Farag graduated from the University of Cairo with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1988 and was registered to practise in Australia in August 1996.
He and his wife ran Brite Smiles Dental Care in Bay Street, Rockdale, which attracted glowing reviews on its website and promised ‘unparalleled service’. Mrs Farag is not accused of any wrongdoing.
In January 2019, a young woman who was in Australia studying English on a student visa saw Farag’s Gumtree advertisement for a cleaner and applied for the position.
During an interview, Farag told ‘CD’ he was impressed with her application but did not want to offer her a cleaner’s job because she had been a doctor in her homeland.
Instead, Farag said he was opening a new clinic which would carry out ‘laser, facial and massage therapy’ and she agreed to undergo training to manage that business.

Farag told CD he would pay her $20 an hour in cash for the training but she would first have to sign a confidentiality agreement, which she did.
His demands can be seen in a copy of Farag’s consent document seized after his arrest, in which the job description has nothing to do with dentistry.
‘I seek training in various cosmetic procedures such as laser hair removal, fat freezing, massage therapy, stretch marks removal, and skincare, among others,’ it states.
‘I consent to unrestricted physical contact during the training sessions. I authorise the use [of] oil or powder as necessary during the procedures.’
The applicant had to further acknowledge ‘the importance of maintaining confidentiality, understanding that any breach may result in financial penalties of $500,000 or higher’.
‘I agree not to disclose any training information to third parties, with a penalty of $500,000 or more for any such breach,’ the document states.
‘By signing this consent, I agree not to file any complaints with any institution or government body. Should I choose to lodge a complaint, I will be subject to a penalty of $500,000 or higher.’
Farag told CD he was awaiting the arrival of machines from overseas for laser and facial treatment and in the meantime he would train her in massage therapy.

For three hours Farag showed CD how to apply pressure-point massage on her hand, arm, shoulder and back and had her do the same to him.
Before leaving the clinic that day, Farag told CD their next appointment would be ‘uncomfortable’ for her because she would need to be naked.
When CD asked why she would need to be naked, Farag said ‘something about applying pressure points inside the body to relieve or cure pain’. If that made her uncomfortable she could wear a swimsuit.
CD arrived at her next training session wearing a bikini under her regular clothes and Farag left the room while she got undressed.
When Farag returned, CD was lying on a dentist’s chair in her swimmers, and he began massaging her thigh, then her inner thigh. CD said she felt uncomfortable but Farag told her to relax and stay still.
Farag then began squeezing against CD’s inner thigh and placed a hand underneath her bikini bottoms near her genitals for several seconds.
‘[CD] sat up on the dentist chair and questioned the offender as to why he was touching her in that area of her body,’ the statement of facts said.
‘The offender explained that it was about pressure points on the body and said something like, “One of the most important ones is the vagina.”‘

After CD told Farag she did not wish to continue with the training, he said they could resume later or at another time. CD was shaking when she got dressed and left.
Farag’s next victim was EF, a young foreign national who had come to Australia to study dental technology on a student visa.
She saw a job advertisement for a dental assistant at Brite Smiles in Rockdale in early 2020 and scheduled an appointment with Farag in February.
EF got a job working one day a week for $20 an hour and had been at the clinic for five months when Farag said he was considering opening a physiotherapy practice upstairs on the premises.
Farag told EF she could work as an assistant to the physiotherapist but to land the role she would have to be trained in ‘massage techniques’.
The job would also require EF to have a ‘skin check’ using an LED light because her work would sometimes involve touching a patient.
‘The offender told [EF] that she would need to remove her clothing,’ the statement of facts said. ‘[EF] queried if this meant all clothing, including undergarments. The offender replied, “Yes, if you are comfortable”.

‘[EF] was confused by this request but thought she could trust the offender because he was a dentist.’

‘The offender said words similar to, “You need to do this. If you’re not comfortable I will not. But if you can’t do the skin check, I will need to reconsider you for the role”.’
EF removed all her clothing while Farag was outside the room, lay down naked in the dental chair and said she was ready.
Farag entered the room wearing latex gloves, stood beside EF and manoeuvred a dental lamp towards the chair. EF closed her eyes and the ‘skin check’ began.
EF could feel the light on her as Farag lifted her arms and legs. He exposed her inner thigh then lifted each of her breasts.
Having asked EF to turn over onto her stomach he told her, ‘You can put your clothes back on. There is nothing to be concerned of.’
The next week EF raised the subject of training for the physio role and Farag said they could start later that day after the last patient had left.
He told her she might have to ‘sign something’ as he would be touching her and he wanted her to be comfortable. EF did not sign any document.
Farag told EF to remove all her clothing, lie on the reclined dental chair and call him when she was ready. EF was naked on her back when Farag came in.

Farag massaged EF’s wrist, right arm and shoulders, then neck. He massaged her left arm, touched her left thigh and slightly separated her legs.
EF began to feel uncomfortable as Farag massaged her inner thigh and her body froze. He touched her genitals with a finger for 10 to 15 seconds.
‘The offender then stopped,’ according to the statement of facts. ‘He told [EF] they were done for the day and that they would do another session on the weekend if she was comfortable.’
When EF was due to go back to work she sent Farag a text message stating she was unable to attend. Having not answered several calls from the dentist, EF sent another message to say she would not be returning to the clinic.
Farag’s third victim, AB, who would ultimately put a stop to his offending, already had several part-time jobs when she applied for a dental assistant’s position at Brite Smiles in August 2024.
At AB’s first training session, Farag asked her to sign a consent form before he led her upstairs and used his iPhone to take photographs of her fully dressed.
‘The offender then told her that he needed to take a photograph of her without her clothes on,’ according to the statement of facts.
‘[AB] took off her clothes, leaving her bra and underpants on. The offender told [AB] that she needed to take off her bra and underpants for “skin checking”.

‘[AB] said, “I have my bra and undies on, and I thought I would be wearing them.” The offender replied, “I need to look through it all and you need to lose your bra and undies as well.”‘
AB took off her underwear and Farag asked her to hold a magnifying glass while he looked at ‘a few black spots’ on her stomach.
At the end of the examination, Farag told AB, ‘Your skin is good. Everything is OK.’
He had taken pictures of her while clothed, in her bra, and naked while standing up and lying down, on her stomach, her side and her back.
‘The photographs did not include any close ups of any marks on her skin,’ according to the statement of facts.
The next month, AB went back to the clinic for more training and Farag handed her a document, stating, ‘As usual you know, we have to sign this quickly.’
‘He gave her $150 in $50 notes as payment for training that day,’ the statement of facts said.
‘He asked her to write “received $150 in cash” on the form with her signature and to provide some feedback on the training, suggesting “I had a great training day”.’

Farag asked AB to again take off all her clothes and lie down, which she reluctantly did. AB felt Farag put a spray on her stomach and heard him say, ‘Oh don’t worry about it, it’s just oil.’
Farag touched AB’s breasts and moved his fingers around her inner thighs and genitals then told her: ‘You can copy what I am doing with my hands by using your hands on me.’
While AB touched Farag’s neck as directed she observed his hands were shaking and told him she needed to leave.
‘The offender said, “I feel like you are getting shy now” and “You need to be more comfortable, there is no need to be shy in front of me. Because you have already been naked in front of me there is no need to be shy”.’
Farag lay down next to AB, put his mouth on her right breast and sucked on her nipple. AB panicked, Farag fell to the floor and she realised he was not wearing a shirt.
‘The offender said “sorry” three or four times,’ according to the statement of facts.
‘The offender went downstairs and [AB] followed shortly thereafter. The offender said, “OK, I will see you tomorrow just text me whenever you got off from other work”.’
The next day, September 10, 2024, AB went to police and reported being molested.

Farag was arrested nine days later and declined to participate in an interview.
Police executed a search warrant on Brite Smiles and seized three consent documents signed by AB, as well as a phone which held intimate images of her.
On December 16, CD was working at West Ryde when she decided to check online reviews of her previous workplace.
‘As soon as she typed, “Brite Smiles Rockdale” she saw a Daily Mail article about the offender being arrested,’ according to the statement of facts. CD called police.
In December 2025, EF was with friends and their conversation triggered memories of what had happened to her at Farag’s clinic.
EF googled Brite Smiles Rockdale, saw that it was permanently closed and noticed a headline, ‘Dentist sexually touched woman during job trial.’
After clicking on a Facebook link to a Bayside Community page, EF read users’ comments about Farag and went to Bankstown police station the next day.
Farag, who is on $1million bail and suspended from practising as a dentist throughout Australia, is listed for sentencing next month.
