WASHINGTON – Pennsylvania’s Senator John Fetterman has returned to his family after a brief hospital stay. His office reported he experienced a ventricular fibrillation episode that left him feeling dizzy and caused him to fall during an early morning walk on Thursday.

On Saturday, Fetterman, a Democrat, shared a photo on X, showcasing the stitches on his nose and forehead. He cheerfully noted, “After 20 stitches and a full recovery, I’m back home” with his wife, Gisele, and their children.

In the post, Fetterman expressed his gratitude towards the Pittsburgh medical team for their excellent care, saying they “put me back together.”

He signed off with a hopeful message: “See you back in DC.”

The American Heart Association describes ventricular fibrillation as the most severe type of irregular heartbeat, which can result in cardiac arrest or sudden cardiac death if the heart ceases to beat unexpectedly.

This condition affects the heart’s lower chambers and can be triggered by cardiomyopathy, a diagnosis Fetterman received in 2022. Cardiomyopathy can obstruct blood flow and lead to potentially life-threatening irregular heartbeats.

Fetterman, 56, disclosed that he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and another type of abnormal heartbeat, atrial fibrillation, after he had a stroke during his 2022 campaign.
