Adam Sandler has been revealed as the officiant for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, which took place at Madison Square Garden.
By 7:30pm on Friday, signs outside the arena were flashing the celebratory message “JUST&T MARRIED!” as roughly 1,000 guests arrived to witness the pop superstar exchange vows with the NFL standout. Among those in attendance were Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Steven Spielberg and Ed Sheeran.
Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed to the Daily Mail that the couple had officially said “I do,” adding that Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as Man of Honor, while Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, stood beside him as Best Man.
Sandler, described as a friend of the newlyweds, presided over the ceremony as the couple opted not to have traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen. Both Swift and Kelce wore Christian Dior Haute Couture for the occasion.
The actor’s connection to Swift dates back to at least 2023, when he attended the premiere of her Eras Tour concert film with his daughters, Sadie, 20, and Sunny, 17, and had the chance to meet the singer in person.
Kelce later crossed paths with Sandler professionally, making a shirtless cameo in Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler praised the football star at the time, calling him “a great actor and a great human.”

When Sandler and his daughters attended the Eras Tour movie premiere in 2023, they got a hug from Swift herself, in footage obtained by Deadline.
Late last year – when Swift and Kelce were already engaged – Sandler confessed he had been ‘jumpy’ at the idea of meeting her ‘because of what she means to my kids.’
He explained that he was afraid he might ‘blow’ the experience for Sunny and Sadie by ‘talking too loud’ or failing to ‘act as cool as I can.’

Sandler shared that ‘there’s not a word’ of her songs ‘that my kids don’t know,’ adding: ‘I know ’em too, by the way, but they know them inside and out.’
Comparing her to the Beatles, he raved about her music, saying that ‘there’s not a single song you skip’ on her albums, on Conan O’Brien’s podcast Team Coco.
By the time he gave that interview, he had already worked with Kelce on Happy Gilmore 2, the Netflix sequel to his classic 1996 golf comedy Happy Gilmore.
Kelce briefly appears as a high-strung maître d’ who terrorizes and then fires of the main characters, a busboy called Oscar played by Bad Bunny.
Near the end of the movie, Oscar is asked to picture his ‘happy place’ and summons up an image of Kelce’s character tied up and wearing nothing but an apron, with honey smeared all over him and a hungry bear approaching.
While promoting the picture, Sandler revealed his daughters had ‘met Taylor a bunch of times over the years’ and gushed over Swift for having ‘always’ been ‘so damn nice to my family,’ in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
‘And Travis is such a gentle, nice guy and funny as hell, and he’s like the guys I grew up with,’ added the The Wedding Singer star. ‘When I was with Travis it reminded me of my buddies in high school, and just being able to laugh and say the things you wanna say. And he certainly is a stud. He’s a great actor and a great human.’
Kelce glowingly expressed his own admiration for Sandler in 2024 when rumors first began circulating that he had landed a role in Happy Gilmore 2.
”I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2, but if there is, I’ll be a f***ing extra,’ Kelce said on New Heights, the podcast he hosts with his brother.
‘Anything to just get around Happy Gilmore or an Adam Sandler film or set. Count me in. Obviously been a huge fan of the Sandman.’
In the hours leading up to Swift and Kelce’s wedding, Sandler reportedly braved the soaring New York temperatures to take in a spot of exercise at a basketball court, then went on a coffee run for his family while they got ready, according to People.
Sandler shares both of his daughters with his wife Jackie Titone, an actress he married in 2003 after meeting her on the set of his film Big Daddy in 1999.
Although they have kept a veil of privacy over their personal life, she has featured in over 20 of his films including Happy Gilmore 2, in which she played a ballet teacher.
When asked about the longevity of their relationship in 2022, he said: ‘Nobody wants to hear about Adam Sandler’s secret to marriage, but I guess here’s the secret: Jackie and I like spending time with each other,’ via AARP Magazine.
‘We try to make each other laugh, try to listen, try to include each other, try to support each other. We try our best – that’s all,’ he explained. ‘And we don’t ever think of not being together. We always talk about our future together.’
