A gunman killed two people and wounded four others — including three police officers — before he was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot in the Fort Worth suburb of Haltom City Saturday night.

Police said they received a call about shots fired shortly before 7 p.m. and a second call minutes later, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Reports of officers wounded came in just a minute after the second call.

Halton City Police spokesman Sgt. Rick Alexander said investigators found a woman dead inside the home and a man dead in the driveway. On Sunday, he identified the dead as Amber Tsai, 32, and Colin Davis, 33.

The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Edward Freyman. Haltom City Police Chief Cody Phillips said that the suspect and the victims knew one another, but investigators have not yet sorted out their relationships.

An elderly woman who made the initial 911 call was shot in the leg, Alexander said, and is recovering in the hospital.

The wounded officers were identified as Cpl Zachery Tabler and Officers Tim Barton and Jose Avila. They are expected to recover.

A Ring doorbell camera shows police officers approaching the house before the gunman apparently opened fire on them. One officer was left lying on the street while another ran behind cars at a neighboring house holding his wounds.

The officers exchanged fire with the gunman before he fled out the back door and jumped a fence, Phillips said, but it’s unclear if police struck the suspect. A helicopter unit tracked him down to where he was found dead, about a half mile from the initial crime scene.

Phillips said investigators don’t yet know the motive for the shooting and said there were “easily hundreds” of rounds fired.
