SWAINSBORO, Ga. () – A staple in the Swainsboro community, the Edenfield House exemplifies the essence of warm hospitality as a longstanding bed and breakfast.

In a recent episode of “Your Hometown Road Trip,” the crew visited the Edenfield House Inn in Swainsboro, where they engaged in conversation with Co-owner David Quinn about the historic property.

What is the Edenfield House?

“Based on what we know, the house was constructed in 1895, making it the oldest continuously operating home in Swainsboro. The murals you see here date back to the 1930s. It has served as a bed and breakfast since 1986, marking quite a history. Positioned in Swainsboro, known as the crossroads of the South, it used to see a lot of activity in its prime. We acquired the property about two years ago, preserving its traditional charm and continuing to operate it in the classic style.”

What is the community aspect here?

“The biggest part of our business is the locals. The town of Swainsboro, the people in Swainsboro, they keep us afloat. Yeah, it’s important. We’ve got a great community here.”

He added, “We do what we can for the community.’

Quinn shared stories with us about several situations the Edenfield House Inn has helped people.

“Christmas, April does an amazing job here at Christmas, decorating. People are welcome to come up and take their family photos. We don’t charge for that.”

Quinn said, “That’s what you do. We have a property that is part of the town of Swainsboro. So, people need to be able to utilize it. It’s not about making money. It’s about being part of the community, so we’re proud of that.”

Edenfield House Inn is located at 426 West Church Street in Swainsboro, Ga. You can follow Edenfield House Inn on their Facebook page for more.
