Donald Trump drew fresh online attention during the G7 summit after a new mark was visible on his hand, prompting another round of health speculation on social media.
The mark, described as a jagged purplish line, appeared on the president’s left hand as he flashed a thumbs-up during a working session with fellow leaders in Evian-les-Bains, France. Images from the event quickly circulated online, fueling discussion by Tuesday.
Questions about Trump’s hands are not new. His right hand has frequently appeared to be covered with makeup to mask discoloration. Trump has previously said the bruising is caused by frequent handshaking, adding that a high aspirin intake makes him bruise more easily.
The latest image led to a wave of public reaction on X, where users offered their own theories about the visible mark.
“It looks like a skin tear with dried blood underneath,” one commenter wrote.
Another user speculated: “Seems to me he’s getting infusions in both hands now, veins probably breaking down.”
A third wrote: ‘They caked layer after layer of makeup on his hand. So much it’s starting to crack.’
The White House has been contacted for comment.

Trump, who celebrated his 80th birthday on Sunday, recently released the results of his latest medical checkup which he said went ‘PERFECTLY.’
The President’s physician, US Navy Captain Sean Barbarella, said in a memo last month that Trump ‘remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.’
Presidents are not obliged to release their medical information to the public.
However, Trump has faced increased political pressure to publish his records after making Joe Biden’s health a cornerstone of his presidential campaign, lashing his rival as ‘Sleepy Joe’ for failing to take a cognitive test.
Last year, after photos showed swelling in the President’s ankles, it was revealed that he suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a common circulatory problem in older patients.
Barbarella’s report noted that the swelling has improved without going into detail.
Trump has also appeared to doze off in meetings with videos showing him closing his eyes during cabinet sessions and Oval Office announcements.
The President explained to the New York Magazine in a January interview that it’s because the cabinet meetings are ‘boring as hell.’

‘I’m going around a room, and I’ve got 28 guys − the last one was three and a half hours,’ Trump said. ‘I have to sit back and listen, and I move my hand so that people will know I’m listening. I’m hearing every word, and I can’t wait to get out.’
Trump flew to the G7 summit in the early hours of Monday after attending the historic UFC cage fighting event at the White House on Sunday.
The President’s top staff often describe him as highly energetic, calling them at all hours of the night to discuss policy matters.
Trump is known to rely on just a few hours of sleep and often spends his weekends playing golf at his resorts in Florida, New Jersey and Virginia.
