Mysterious death of teen baseball star takes a shocking twist

The sister of a promising young baseball player, who tragically passed away in 2020, has initiated a high-profile lawsuit against her father, a well-known TV news anchor, accusing him of sexual misconduct.

In the lawsuit filed on October 14 in the Circuit Court of Davidson County, Tennessee, the plaintiff, whose identity the Daily Mail has opted to keep confidential, alleges that her father, Aaron Solomon, now 56, consistently abused her until she was 12.

Currently a college freshman, she claims in the legal documents that her father would share her bed during her childhood, exploiting this proximity for his sexual satisfaction. She also accuses him of abusing her during bath times.

The complaint further accuses the former WSMV morning anchor of drugging her to facilitate his misconduct, and of covertly photographing and videotaping her in the nude.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff disclosed the alleged abuse to her mother, Angelia ‘Angie’ Solomon, when she was just seven years old. Her mother subsequently reported the allegations to the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) in October 2013.

However, the court documents reveal that the DCS investigation concluded there was insufficient evidence to support claims of sexual abuse, labeling the allegations as ‘unsubstantiated.’

The lawsuit is the latest bombshell to rock the Tennessee family which has been plagued by scandal in recent years.

In July 20, 2020, the accused’s son Grant Solomon, died in a bizarre car accident just one month after turning 18.

He had been on his way to meet his father at a baseball training facility when his own truck rolled backwards over him at the side of the road.

The high school senior’s death was ruled an accident but his mother Angie believes he was killed and has long campaigned for police to reopen the investigation.

Then, in a shocking turn of events, Angie was arrested on April 11 this year after allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to murder her ex-husband Aaron.

Prosecutors said she planned to have the father of her two children killed in response to what she claimed were years of alleged abuse, and because she believes he killed their son, Grant. Aaron has denied the accusations.

Angie has since been charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder. She pleaded not guilty and was released from jail in May after posting a $250,000 bond.

The couple have been divorced since 2014, and Grant was living with his mother and sister at the time of his death.

On the day of the accident the teen had driven approximately 50 miles to meet his father at Ward Performance Institute in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Less than ten minutes after arriving, Aaron, who was the only witness, called 911 and said his son was trapped under his white Toyota pick-up truck at the foot of a ditch.

His mother told the Daily Mail in a previous interview that Grant had not been alone with his father for months.

According to the new complaint, Aaron took the children without their mother’s knowledge in 2013. He allegedly told them that their mother was dead and refused to let them see her for six months.

When the couple divorced in 2014, a contentious custody battle for the children ensued.

Then, in August 2018, the plaintiff stayed with her father at a Holiday Inn Express in Asheville, North Carolina, after traveling there to watch Grant play baseball, the complaint stated.

The then 11-year-old expressed her preference for sleeping in separate beds because she was worried about what her father might do but he reserved a room with only one bed, according to the court document.

She alleged that when she woke during the night, her father had removed the pillow that was between them and pressed his body into hers while holding her still.

‘Defendant pressed his erect penis against Plaintiff’s lower back and buttocks and made thrusting motions against plaintiff’s body.’

‘Defendant attempted to and/or successfully penetrated plaintiff’s vagina with his penis,’ the lawsuit stated.

‘The following day, Plaintiff experienced pain in and around her vagina. Because she was only 11 years old at the time, Plaintiff did not realize that what she had felt was Defendant’s erect penis pressing against her back, buttocks, and vagina,’ the complaint continued.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff’s brother and the court-appointed parent guardian independently reported suspicions in 2019 that the defendant had drugged the claimant before sexually abusing her.

The complaint stated that neither the Tennessee Department of Children Services nor the courts took action following the reports.

In May 2021, the plaintiff posted a video of herself online, describing her father’s abuse in her own words, calling him a ‘monster.’

In the video, she recounted the same story of abuse she has repeated over the years to DCS, her doctors and therapists, according to the court document.

The suit stated that she has been in therapy since 2013 and was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.

She has requested a trial by a jury of twelve.

The Daily Mail has contacted Aaron Solomon several times for comment about the accusations, but has not received a response.

However, during an episode of The Good Grief Good God Show, hosted by country songwriter Brad Warren of The Warren Brothers, Aaron addressed some of the allegations.

He said: ‘It’s pretty public out there that during our divorce, I was accused of abusing the kids in multiple ways – was investigated twice during our divorce, and found to be innocent of that.

‘Later on, once again, accused again post-divorce. Once again, that was not found to be true. Once again, a few years later, similar thing, investigated again, not nothing founded.

‘So there’s been multiple accusations over since 2013. Mind you, there was also a false accusation on social media in 2013, right at the early part of our divorce, that I had kidnapped the kids. And this was on Facebook, and needed to raise money quickly because of it.

‘I literally at that time had paperwork in my pocket from a judge that showed it that I had in custody of the kids. Had it in my pocket. Literally, had it with me everywhere I went just so I had it everywhere I went just in case.’
