Following the discovery of graffiti that halted progress on the new Bills stadium, construction firms Gilbane Building and Turner Construction have announced a $100,000 reward for any information leading to arrests of those responsible.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz revealed earlier this week that the graffiti contained offensive content, both pornographic and homophobic in nature. William Geary, the county’s commissioner of public works, informed WKBW that the damage affected four distinct suites, resulting in approximately $150,000 in damages. The oil-based spray paint used defaced surfaces and flooring, necessitating the removal and replacement of several parts.
In a joint announcement, Gilbane Building and Turner Construction confirmed that construction had resumed as of Friday, and assured that the stadium’s completion would remain on track.
