An unsettling incident unfolded at a Bronx middle school on Monday when an 11-year-old girl allegedly stabbed a 12-year-old boy, police and sources have reported. This incident preceded another disturbance in a Queens school cafeteria involving pepper spray, which resulted in two students being hospitalized.

The stabbing took place shortly after 11 a.m. at IS 218, located on Gerard Avenue near East 167th Street in the Concourse neighborhood. According to authorities, the girl used a kitchen knife to cut the boy on his left arm.

The injured boy received medical attention at Lincoln Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. Law enforcement sources confirmed that the girl was taken into custody following the incident.

About 100 students were having lunch in the room at the time, cops said.

Two 12-year-old students – one boy and one girl – were taken to the Elmhurst Hospital Center for treatment, cops said.

Two students were taken into custody and the pepper spray was recovered, police said.

The school is part of a campus that has a student population of about 1,300, with only three school safety agents assigned, the sources said.
