A bride-to-be was among three people killed after a Tesla crashed into a tree and burst into flames in a devastating California collision.
Authorities identified the victims as 28-year-old Kailauna Viola Mills of Roseville, 30-year-old Charles Anthony Cameron of Sacramento, and 28-year-old Alejandra Mendoza of Sacramento.
The crash occurred at about 10:40 p.m. Saturday on westbound Serrano Parkway, west of Terracina Drive in El Dorado Hills, according to the California Highway Patrol.
When officers arrived, the 2024 Tesla Model Y had struck a tree and was completely engulfed in flames.
Cameron, who was riding as a passenger, was ejected from the Tesla and pronounced dead at the scene. Mendoza and Mills were found inside the burning vehicle after firefighters put out the flames, the CHP said.
Jennifer Roth, the mother of Mills’ fiancé, remembered the young woman in a heartbreaking Facebook post.
“My son Elijah’s fiancé Kailauna passed away,” she wrote.
“To say we are heartbroken doesn’t come close to describing the pain we are feeling. She was the missing puzzle piece that we didn’t even know was missing.”
