Update: Peacocking '60 Minutes' Journo Struts Straight Into Consequences After Combative Meeting

Recently, a heated meeting unfolded at “60 Minutes” as the program’s new executive producer, Nick Bilton, faced his colleagues for the first time. The meeting, described as contentious, aimed to outline the future direction of the long-standing program now under Bilton’s leadership, which commenced last Thursday. This shift in leadership came on the heels of a dramatic shake-up where CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss dismissed several key figures, including former executive producer Tanya Simon, along with top producers and correspondents such as Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega.

In the aftermath of these sweeping changes, Scott Pelley, a veteran correspondent known for his staunch views, reportedly had a fiery exchange with Bilton. Pelley openly questioned Bilton’s qualifications and expressed frustration over the recent terminations, which Bilton had no part in executing. When Bilton suggested continuing the discussion in private, Pelley declined, opting instead to voice his grievances in front of the staff. He accused both Bilton and Weiss of lacking the necessary experience, even going so far as to claim that Weiss was “murdering” the show. Pelley further challenged Bilton’s decision to assume his new role, suggesting that he would never be accepted by the team.

Scott Pelley, a veteran “60 Minutes” correspondent and typical leftist legacy media blowhard, had a meltdown, according to reports, questioning Bilton’s credentials and demanding to know the reason behind last week’s firings, firings in which Bilton had no role. When Bilton said they should take their conversation private, Pelley refused. Pelley continued to insult both Bilton and Weiss over an alleged lack of experience, telling Bilton that Weiss was “murdering” the program, and that he was curious as to why Bilton decided to take on the role, “knowing that you will never be welcome here.”
