OFFICIALS had to issue a shocking recall after the alcoholic beverage High Noon was accidentally packaged inside energy drink Celsius cans.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall on Wednesday after High Noon discovered that a packaging supplier, which it shares with Celsius, mistakenly shipped energy drink cans instead of their own.

The agency did not specify the number of recalled cans.

The recall says that it affected exclusively High Noon Beach Variety 12-packs of vodka seltzers.

High Noon’s parent company, GALLO, told the U.S. Sun that it affected two production lots and referred to the batch as “small.”

They were unable to provide an exact number.

The alcohol packs were sent to distributors in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Those distributors then shipped to retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The FDA advised consumers to check Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink in the Sparkling Blue Razz flavor for specific lot codes before consumption, even if they did not buy the High Noon variety pack.

One way consumers can tell if their Celsius cans are affected is that the drinks will have silver lids instead of their signature black tops.

Drinking the swapped out drinks will result in “unintentional alcohol ingestion,” the FDA wrote.

The product was shipped last week between July 21 and July 23.

The UPC codes of the recalled drinks are High Noon cans with the numbers 085000040065, and Celsius cans with the number 8 89392 001341.

The energy drink company clarified in a press release that they were “not involved in the production, filling, or distribution of the affected products.”

“This recall does not involve any CELSIUS products, only aluminum cans bearing our artwork.

A GALLO spokesperson informed the U.S. Sun: “High Noon is voluntarily recalling a limited number of High Noon Beach Variety Packs due to a labeling error from our can supplier.”

“We are working with the FDA, retailers and distributors to proactively manage the recall to ensure the safety and well-being of our consumers.”

No illnesses have been reported as of now, according to the FDA.

If customers have purchased the affected lots, they should not drink the liquid inside the can, the recall says.

They are then advised to reach out to High Noon at consumerrelations@highnoonvodka.com for more information, including refunds.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, alongside the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, are both aware of the recall.
