Alex Soros and Huma Abedin kick off wedding weekend with lavish rehearsal dinner

Alex Soros and Huma Abedin Begin Wedding Celebrations with an Extravagant Rehearsal Dinner

Alex Soros and Huma Abedin kicked off their wedding weekend with an intimate rehearsal dinner Friday night.

The son of billionaire George Soros and a former aide to Hillary Clinton hosted friends and family for a welcome dinner at Alex’s mother Susan Weber Soros’ waterfront estate on Shelter Island, New York.

Susan, who was married to George from 1983 until 2005, bought the property for nearly its asking price of $5.95 million in 2013. The traditional beachside home spans 4,358 square feet, is situated on 1.37 acres, and includes five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms.

Images obtained by the Daily Mail show Abedin wearing a floor-length, champagne-colored dress paired with white heels at the event. Alex complemented his bride-to-be by wearing a tan suit.

The couple looked walked closely together as the made their way through the grounds of the estate.

Clinton, who is expected to be one of many high-profile guests at the wedding, was also spotted chatting with Abedin’s son, Jordan, 13. The politician, 77, was snapped wearing a casual gray sweater, matching pants and a pair of black sunglasses.

We’re told there has been heavy police presence in the Hamptons ahead of the star-studded nuptials.

Alex, 39, and Abedin, 48, are expected to say “I Do” in front of a star-studded crowd at the Soros family’s mansion in Southampton, NY, Saturday.

Page Six exclusively reported in February that the couple sent out save-the-date cards for their wedding.

We also broke the news of their engagement last summer, just weeks after Alex got down on one knee in Italy.

“The best way I can describe the relationship is effortless,” Abedin’s longtime friend told us in July 2024, calling their friend “relaxed and happy in love … after a lot of tumultuous years.”

Alex popped the question with a large diamond ring estimated to be worth six figures.

Mike Fried of The Diamond Pro told Page Six Style at the time that the special sparkler was “incredibly rare.”

“I imagine the ring was custom-designed and cost an estimated $1.3 million, but possibly more, depending on the quality of the stone,” Fried said. “The ring is a perfect balance of modern and classic — giving Huma a timeless ring that suits her style.”

Abedin and Alex first sparked dating rumors in February 2024 when they were spotted looking loved up on a dinner date in Paris on Valentine’s Day.

Shortly after, a source told Page Six that the power duo was a “classic Clinton world couple.”

“Alex is the perfect match for Huma. He’s insanely wealthy and powerful — everything that Huma cares about,” the insider said.

Since then, they have been seen on several outings together including the 2024 Met Gala where they made their red carpet debut as a couple.

Abedin was previously married to disgraced politician Anthony Weiner. They tied the knot in 2010 but she filed for divorce in May 2017 after his sexting scandal dominated headlines.
