Man arrested in connection to deadly block party shooting in Jacksonville

Stephan Smith, 23, has been arrested in connection to 18-year-old Xzaria Randall’s murder.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that a man has been detained in relation to the shooting death of an 18-year-old woman in Jacksonville.

In a news release, JSO said Stephan Smith, 23, was arrested on a warrant in connection to 18-year-old Xzaria Randall’s murder.

According to JSO, just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, patrol officers responded to the 5800 block of Rover Road following a report of the shooting, as told to First Coast News. JSO Sgt. Highfill explained that a party was underway when a fight erupted, leading to gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Randall with several gunshot wounds to her torso, JSO reported. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then came to the scene and declared her deceased, as stated in JSO’s release.

Court records show Smith will make his first appearance in court on July 29 for his arraignment.
