SAN DIEGO — The cast of Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” felt the fan love at San Diego Comic-Con.
Maia Kealoha, Tia Carrere, and Sydney Elizabeth Agudong recently spoke to On The Red Carpet during the “Lilo & Stitch” block party pop-up event. This gathering allowed fans to take photos, indulge in treats, and celebrate the animated classic transitioning into a live-action hit.
“It’s such an incredible feeling,” expressed Maia Kealoha, portraying Lilo in the live-action version. “We’re bringing families together in cinemas to experience our film and others,” she noted. “Their support has been crucial for us.”
Tia Carrere, who was part of the original animated version and now reprises her role in the live-action movie, talked about her excitement regarding the film’s influence.
“Yes, our little blue friend is a billionaire,” she said with a laugh, referencing the film hitting its billion-dollar global box office milestone.
Agudong, who takes on the role of Nani, was grateful for the support too. “This is rad. And seeing all the support around here-thank you guys!” she said to fans.
“It is something to celebrate, that these stories continue and that another generation can enjoy it,” Carrere added. “I love that I get to leave my fingerprints on the first Nani and to contribute to the second Nani.”
