AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) — The Office of Professional and Continuing Education at Auburn University is organizing a live national tax seminar aimed at aiding tax professionals in understanding the effects of H.R. 1: One Beautiful Bill Act.
This controversial bill was approved on July 1, 2025, with Vice President JD Vance casting the deciding vote, and subsequently passed the House of Representatives on July 3, 2025. It is hailed as a notable piece of legislation during President Donald Trump’s second term.
H.R.1 provides a significant tax overhaul, with more than 300 pages of the bill being dedicated to tax law changes.
According to Auburn University representatives, the seminar titled “Preparing for the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act” is designed to assist tax experts in navigating this new legislation. The three-hour session will take place via Zoom starting on Aug. 27.
The cost of the class is $125, covering the seminar itself, an accompanying PowerPoint presentation, and a draft client letter to aid tax professionals in communicating changes to their clients.
Chris Bird, an author and former IRS agent, emphasizes, “If tax professionals do not quickly adapt to the new laws, there’s a risk of incorrect interpretations leading to higher taxes for citizens. It’s crucial to keep clients informed and up-to-date on legislative changes to ensure compliance and identify strategic opportunities, reducing tax burdens while maximizing benefits offered under the new law.”
