Bad Bunny to headline Super Bowl 60 halftime show

Bad Bunny Set to Perform at Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Bad Bunny will take center stage as Super Bowl 60’s halftime show performer.

The announcement came during halftime of Sunday Night Football’s matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.

The Puerto Rican superstar’s selection for a significant performance comes during yet another impressive phase in his career: He recently concluded a historic residency in Puerto Rico this month that attracted over half a million attendees and is leading all contenders at the upcoming Latin Grammys in November. He has ascended as one of the globe’s most streamed artists with his entirely Spanish-language album, “Un Verano Sin Ti.”

Three-time Grammy winner Bad Bunny shared a video on social media featuring the Puerto Rican rapper and singer sitting on football goalposts.

“What I’m experiencing goes beyond just myself,” Bad Bunny expressed in a statement. “It’s for those who paved the way before me, making countless strides so I could make this achievement… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Go tell your grandmother that we will be the SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW.”

Earlier on Sunday, Apple Music hinted at the announcement through their social media platforms by sharing an image comprising three emojis: a football, an apple, and a shushing face, along with a caption encouraging viewers to “tune into the Sunday Night Football halftime for a major announcement.” The tech company took over the halftime show sponsorship from Pepsi in 2022.

Bad Bunny is set to headline the Feb. 8, 2026, event at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the home venue of the San Francisco 49ers. The 2026 Super Bowl will be broadcast on NBC.

The 31-year-old artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has earned three Grammys and 12 Latin Grammys. As a global ambassador for Latin music, he has appeared in films like “Bullet Train,” “Caught Stealing,” and “Happy Gilmore 2,” and has worked with renowned fashion brands. He enters the Latin Grammys as the leading nominee with 12 nominations, surpassing producer and songwriter Édgar Barrera.

For weeks, fans have been speculating about who might perform at the halftime show. Rumors intensified following the engagement announcement of Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in August, suggesting that the pop icon might be the performer—speculation further fueled by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s reluctance to officially dismiss the possibility during an interview on NBC’s “Today.”

The halftime show has become one of the most-watched musical events globally, regularly drawing more than 100 million viewers and dominating social media conversation during and after the performance.

Bad Bunny joins an elite roster of recent headliners.

In February 2025, Kendrick Lamar took the stage at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, joined by SZA and a special guest appearance by Samuel L. Jackson. Usher headlined Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas in February 2024, delivering a career-spanning set that featured surprise guests and highlighted his decades of R&B hits. Rihanna returned to performing after a years-long hiatus to headline Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona, in February 2023, confirming during the show that she was pregnant with her second child.
