SAN FRANCISCO — As anticipation builds for the Super Bowl halftime show, fans are eagerly wondering what Bad Bunny has in store for his performance. The buzz is that he plans to deliver his set entirely in Spanish, showcasing Latin culture at the heart of one of America’s biggest television events.

Bad Bunny may shed more light on his performance plans this Thursday in San Francisco, as the Grammy-winning artist is scheduled to speak in the days leading up to the game.

At 10 a.m. Pacific time on Thursday, Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden will sit down with Bad Bunny and the pregame performers for an interview. This Puerto Rican artist has risen to become one of the globe’s most-streamed musicians, with chart-topping albums like “Un Verano Sin Ti.” His latest work, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” recently clinched the prestigious Album of the Year award at the Grammys, marking a historic first for an all-Spanish-language album.

Super Bowl live updates: Block parties, concerts happening all week long in Bay Area

Last year, Bad Bunny made headlines with his record-breaking residency in Puerto Rico, drawing in over half a million fans. His upcoming Super Bowl performance has only heightened interest in his unique style and musical prowess.

For those eager to catch Bad Bunny’s interview, Apple Music will stream it live on their platform and extend its reach through social media channels like YouTube and Facebook. This event promises to be a glimpse into the creative mind of a global superstar, just days before his highly anticipated halftime show.

The pregame media session might reveal some details about the performance, but headliners often keep a few secrets. Rihanna sure did, waiting until her Super Bowl performance in 2023 to reveal she was pregnant with her second child.

The Super Bowl will be held Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, with the Seattle Seahawks facing off against the New England Patriots.

Who else is performing at the Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl pregame show will open with several standout performers in Northern California: Charlie Puth will hit the stage to sing the national anthem, Brandi Carlile will take on “America the Beautiful” and Coco Jones will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

The national anthem and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be performed by deaf performing artist Fred Beam in American Sign Language. Julian Ortiz will sign “America the Beautiful.”

Before the game, Green Day will play a set to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Super Bowl. The band, which has its roots in the Bay Area, plans to “Get loud!” according to lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.

In a historic first, the halftime show will include a multilingual signing program featuring Puerto Rican Sign Language, led by interpreter Celimar Rivera Cosme. All signed performances for the pregame and halftime shows will be presented in collaboration with Alexis Kashar of LOVE SIGN and Howard Rosenblum of Deaf Equality.
