The Beaches Branch Library is preparing for a temporary shutdown lasting about two weeks to facilitate the installation of a new HVAC system. Here’s what you need to know about the closure.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — The Jacksonville Public Library’s sole outpost near the beach will temporarily shutter its doors starting Monday, October 27, for essential HVAC upgrades. Officials anticipate welcoming patrons back in mid-November.

During this period, the library’s book drop will be unavailable. Any books on hold or requested for pickup will be redirected to the Pablo Creek Regional Library located on Beach Boulevard, the nearest alternative branch.

Library users wishing to transfer their holds to a different Jacksonville Public Library branch can do so easily through the library’s website, mobile app, or by contacting the library at 904-255-2665.

For information on all 20 other library branches and their operating hours, please visit the Jacksonville Public Library’s website.

To see all 20 other locations and their hours, visit the library’s website.

E-books, audiobooks, movies and other content can still be accessed online through the Digital Library service.
