Authorities have apprehended Charles Franklin Jones Jr. in relation to the tragic stabbing of 38-year-old Billy Clark Foster.
ORANGE PARK, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday that they have made an arrest following a fatal stabbing incident in Orange Park.
Charles Franklin Jones Jr. faces charges linked to the death of Billy Clark Foster, who succumbed to his injuries earlier this week.
According to the sheriff’s office, Foster was fatally injured on Monday after a confrontation erupted in a parking area near the 100 block of Knight Boxx Road.
Through a thorough investigation, detectives from CCSO uncovered that Foster and Jones had arranged to meet at this location after exchanging messages over several days.
CCSO stated in a Facebook post, “The investigation continues to uncover the reason behind this meeting. This was a targeted incident involving these two individuals and did not pose a risk to the broader public.”
CCSO said Jones was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop in Orange Park, adding that he was taken into custody without incident.
Jones faces charges of second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, depriving the victim of access to 911 and knowingly driving with a suspended license.
