Washington — In a strategic move to solidify his influence over the Justice Department, President Trump has put forward Todd Blanche as his choice for attorney general. Blanche has been acting as attorney general since April, following the dismissal of Pam Bondi by President Trump. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who has yet to decide on supporting Blanche’s nomination. Tillis emphasized that Blanche’s stance on the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot will be crucial in determining his support.
