A man classified as a criminal illegal immigrant, who had been permitted entry into the United States during the Biden administration and subsequently took up employment as a commercial truck driver, has been apprehended on accusations of terrorism links, federal officials disclosed on Monday.

Identified as Akhror Bozorov, 31, the individual originates from Uzbekistan, where an arrest warrant was issued against him in 2022 due to his alleged involvement with a terrorist organization, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Authorities in Uzbekistan charged him with disseminating terrorist propaganda advocating for jihad on the internet and recruiting individuals to join the jihadist cause.

Bozorov was taken into custody by ICE on November 9 while working as a commercial truck driver. Reports indicate that he obtained a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in Pennsylvania and was granted work authorization in January 2024, under policies implemented by the Biden administration.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin expressed her concerns in a statement, saying, “The Biden administration not only allowed Akhror Bozorov, a wanted terrorist, into the country but also facilitated his acquisition of a commercial driver’s license in Pennsylvania. It should be obvious that individuals with terrorist affiliations should not be behind the wheels of 18-wheelers on our highways. This administration has opened the door for numerous terrorists to enter the U.S.”

Further criticizing the current administration, McLaughlin stated, “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE was empowered to actively pursue and mitigate these national security threats.”
