Brian Walshe, the Massachusetts man accused of dismembering his wife, was attacked in jail on Thursday, weeks ahead of his murder trial.
Walshe was attacked inside a housing unit at a correctional center in Dedham shortly before 10 p.m. The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office did not identify Walshe as the victim, but his attorney, Larry Tipton, confirmed to Masslive.com that Walshe had been stabbed.
He was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for medical care and then returned to the jail overnight, as stated by the sheriff’s office in a release to Fox News Digital.

Brian Walshe was caught on surveillance at a Home Depot purchasing items such as three mops and brushes, two splash-resistant goggles, and a utility knife. Authorities suspect he used these items to dispose of his wife’s remains.
In the search efforts for Ana, a hacksaw with a “small bone fragment” was discovered in a dumpster opposite Walshe’s mother’s residence. Prosecutors stated that following his wife’s disappearance, Walshe allegedly used his son’s iPad to conduct over a dozen Google searches on ways to dispose of a body.
Before the disappearance, Walshe hired a private investigator because he suspected his wife was cheating on him.

At the time, the couple’s marriage was on the rocks because of Brian’s unrelated legal troubles. He had been under house arrest as part of his pre-sentencing probation for selling fake Andy Warhol paintings, according to prosecutors.
