Jeremiah, who shares the same father with Decarlos Brown Jr. — the 34-year-old accused in the horrific murder of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska on a light rail train — expressed to the New York Post his belief that the tragedy might have been “avoided.”
Decarlos Brown Jr., who had a prior criminal history before the alleged deadly assault in North Carolina last month, faced arrest earlier this year over allegations of 911 misuse, but was subsequently let go on a written agreement to appear, as per court documents.
“I think they could have pretty much prevented it then,” Jeremiah told the Post.
Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian, came to America to get away from the conflict in her homeland, but sadly was killed in a stabbing on a light rail train last month in Charlotte, North Carolina. (WBTV; EVGENIYA RUSH on GoFundMe)
Zarutska had come to the U.S. to get away from the Russia-Ukraine war.
“In August 2022, she moved from Ukraine along with her mother, sister, and brother to seek refuge from the war, quickly adapting to her new life in the U.S.,” as noted in her obituary.
