Search for answers in NJ mom murder case
Fox News correspondent Bryan Llenas has reported on the continuing investigation into the killing of New Jersey mother Brooke Hanlon, who was found stabbed inside her home. More than a month later, no arrests have been announced, and officials have released few details, including information about the 911 call and whether her husband, James Connor Hanlon, is cooperating with investigators. The unresolved case has left neighbors in Chester, N.J., searching for answers.
Authorities in California arrested a man this week in connection with the death of his mother, police said.
Angela Caprioli, 61, was discovered dead Monday at a residence in Laguna Beach, according to the Laguna Beach Police Department. The New York Post identified Caprioli and the suspect, 36-year-old Safford Wolfson, as mother and son.
Wolfson was taken into custody Thursday on suspicion of murder after investigators had earlier named him a person of interest in the case.

Police said officers were called to a home in the 1300 block of Dunning Drive shortly after 11 a.m. for a death investigation and found Caprioli dead at the scene.
Officials have not released additional details about how Caprioli died, and the circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
A neighbor, Dustin Pettit, said he saw Wolfson and Caprioli in what appeared to be a heated dispute at the home in the days before the alleged killing.

“I saw her outside talking with him and it seemed like a pretty hostile conversation,” Pettit told The California Post.
“She turned around and went inside and slammed the door, like she was fed up with whatever was going on.”
Pettit also told CBS Los Angeles that Wolfson had moved into the home about six months earlier.
“He was pretty mysterious. He wasn’t talking to us, you know, he would come outside, smoke a cigarette and play some guitar,” he said. “That’s kinda the extent of the relationship we’ve had with him over the last six months or so.”

According to the New York Post, social media accounts associated with Wolfson identify the account holder as transgender.
The outlet also reported that Wolfson wrote on Facebook in 2024: “Not even my mom wants to hang out with me man… talk about lame-o!”
