The family of the late financier Brandon Miller is heartbroken after his widow, Candice Miller, did not attend his tombstone unveiling ceremony this past weekend. Insiders suggest that she is upset due to their shocking financial downfall.
Brandon, a real estate broker, took his own life last July at their Southampton residence as their lavish lifestyle, supported by a precarious financial situation, unraveled under the pressure of multi-million dollar debts and numerous legal actions.
At that time, a representative for Candice, known for her luxury influence, stated: “Candice is devastated by the loss of her soul mate, and her two young daughters’ lives are forever impacted by the loss of their beloved daddy.”
It was reported at the time that Candice was unaware of their dire financial straights.
On Sunday, Brandon’s family gathered on Long Island for his headstone unveiling, a Jewish rite that’s usually held within a year of a death. It doubled as an unveiling for his mother’s headstone, since she died just six months after Brandon.
We’re told Candice was in the New York area over the weekend.
“It was an incredibly emotional and moving gathering, with family and close friends coming together to honor their memory,” a family insider told us, “There wasn’t a dry eye as Brandon’s closest friends stood by the family to pay tribute. His sister, Maurley, spoke with heartbreak and grace, honoring the two people she’s lost in just six months.”
They added, “While Brandon’s wife, Candice, and no one from her side of the family attended, the presence and loyalty of those who did was a powerful reminder of the kind of man Brandon truly was — and the love he left behind.”
She sold the house where they had lived for $15million and moved to Miami.
They were married in 2009. They have two preteen daughters.
A rep for Candice, who ran the popular luxury lifestyle account Mama and Tata before the tragedy, didn’t comment.
