Cardi B reacts to Karmelo Anthony verdict — draws fierce backlash online

Cardi B's Response to Karmelo Anthony Verdict Sparks Intense Online Controversy

The recent conviction of Karmelo Anthony has sparked a flurry of online discussions, with the public deeply divided over the jury’s decision. Some stand by the verdict, while others express sympathy for Anthony, who was found guilty of murdering Austin Metcalf.

Anthony faced charges for fatally stabbing Metcalf, a 17-year-old, during a high school track meet altercation back in April 2025. Consequently, he received a 35-year prison sentence.

At 19, Anthony attacked Metcalf near a team tent at Kuykendall Stadium, located in Frisco, Texas, during the heated exchange between the two teens.

In response to the verdict, Cardi B took to X, expressing outrage with, “Wow! Just freakin wow! DISGUSTING… This is not justice, this is trying to make an example!!!”

Her post quickly went viral, amassing 10 million views and generating tens of thousands of interactions. In contrast, Fox News commentator Tomi Lahren replied, “Yes, the example is, don’t stab somebody in the chest. Thanks for playing.”

Many others have joined the conversation. Matt Van Swol, who boasts over half a million followers, commented, “I know… It’s like, ‘Damn, Black people can’t stab any White people to death anymore and not go to prison just because they are Black.’ Devastating.”

Here’s the latest on Karmelo Anthony’s murder trial following the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf

Zeek Arkham, a former New York Police Department officer and current host of “Reasonable Suspiscion” podcast, replied: “‘Trying to make an example?’ Yes, Cardi…stabbing people is bad. We should make stabbing people as unattractive as possible. Might cause people to think before they stab someone. Thanks… I think?”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Cardi B’s team for further comment.
