The Chicago Help Initiative, a reliable support source for those facing homelessness and difficulties, is organizing its annual event, “Carnaval of Giving,” this Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Fogo de Chão, situated at 661 N. LaSalle Drive in River North.

This lively event, featuring Brazilian-inspired dishes, live music, and a silent auction, aims to gather critical funds for CHI’s continuous programs that assist numerous Chicagoans in need throughout the year.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

Attendees will enjoy a vibrant night filled with community spirit and compassion. The funds raised will directly benefit CHI’s free meal services, case management, mental health support, housing aid, adult education programs, and its unique Free Store and Move-In Box program for those transitioning into stable housing.

Early Bird tickets are priced at $200, including dinner, drinks, entertainment, and participation in the community-focused silent auction. Sponsorships begin at $1,000, offering branding and VIP acknowledgment. To purchase tickets, make a donation, or to become a sponsor, visit https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=3Wwudq.

“This gathering is more than just a celebration—it’s a commitment to supporting our community,” expressed Doug Fraser, CHI’s executive director. “Many of our affiliate organizations that depend on federal funding are facing severe cutbacks and interruptions in crucial services that the community depends on. These changes not only jeopardize their functioning but also the welfare of the people we assist.”

Established in 2001 by civic leader Jacqueline C. Hayes, CHI functions independently, without relying on government funds, depending entirely on private donors, volunteers, and the local business community for support.

As public safety nets shrink, CHI’s agile, relationship-centered model is stepping up to fill the void-one meal, one person, one future at a time. Learn more at chicagohelpinitiative.org.
