In Center Point, Alabama, the principal of Center Point High School, Terrell Brown, has been put on administrative leave following his arrest on misdemeanor charges in Mobile last June.
Media reports indicate Brown was arrested for domestic violence.
According to a statement from Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin, the incident did not involve any students or staff.
“We have been informed that Dr. Terrell Brown, the principal of Center Point High School, is dealing with a misdemeanor charge. I cannot disclose the details of the alleged incident, other than to confirm it didn’t involve any students, faculty, or staff and took place off campus,” stated Gonsoulin. “Following our usual protocols and procedures, Dr. Brown has been placed on administrative leave. I’d like to emphasize that administrative leave does not imply the individual is guilty of any wrongdoing.”
