Lollapalooza 2025: Chance the Rapper joins Saturday lineup; Olivia Rodrigo, Korn set to headline Friday in Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chance the Rapper has been added to the Lollapalooza lineup, festival organizers said Friday.

He will take the Perry’s stage at 5:50 p.m. Saturday.

Lollapalooza kicked off Thursday, with thousands descending on Chicago’s Grant Park, despite some of the worst air quality in the world.

On Friday, Olivia Rodrigo and Korn are headlining.

RÜFÜS DU SOL and Twice are headlining Saturday, and Sabrina Carpenter and A$AP Rocky are headlining Sunday.

With tens of thousands expected downtown, CTA and Metra are stepping up with extra trains and service all weekend long.

The I-Team is looking into how Lollapalooza attendees are protected in a volatile threat environment.

Festival gates open each day at 11 a.m. There are two main access points to Grant Park’s festival grounds: the primary entrance at Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive, and a secondary entrance at Monroe Street and Columbus Drive.

Gates close at 10 p.m. each night.

Expect large crowds and traffic.

There are several levels of tickets available: General Admission, GA+, VIP and Platinum. Ticket prices are as follows:

General Admission

1 day: Starting at $189, fees included
2 day: Starting at $378, fees included
4 day: Starting at $415, fees included

GA+

1 day: Starting at $300, fees included
4 day: Starting at $775, fees included

VIP

1 day: Starting at $635, fees included
4 day: Staring at $1,670, fees included

Platinum

1 day: Starting at $2,130, fees included

All ticket purchases are final. Wristbands, which are sent out ahead of the event, are non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and must be worn securely on your wrist to prevent removal.

Lost or stolen wristbands can only be replaced for the original purchase once, for a $25 fee.

Lollapalooza bag policy

– All bags will undergo a check before entry.
– Small clutch purses and fanny packs that measure 6″ x 9″ or smaller don’t need to be clear but should not have more than one pocket.
– Other bags larger than 6″ x 9″ must be smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and must be clear.
– Hydration packs are permitted without needing to be clear, but they should be empty, and have no more than two main sections and one small section.

Lollapalooza allowed and prohibited items

ALLOWED ITEMS

– Baby strollers
– Binoculars
– Cameras (basic consumer-grade cameras without detachable lenses and no additional accessories like monopods, tripods, or GoPro mounts)
– Empty reusable water bottles and hydration packs, plastic, or aluminum water bottles
– Factory-sealed Naloxone/Narcan kits
– Factory-sealed single-serving hydration/electrolyte packets
– Personal hand sanitizer (up to 3.4 ounces)
– Personal misting fans with bottles no larger than 1.5L (must be empty upon arrival)
– Portable battery packs
– Non-aerosol sunscreen containers allowed up to 3.4 ounces
Prescription Medicine Guidelines:
– Visitors needing prescription medication must display the pharmacy-labeled container indicating the prescription, dosage, and the patient’s name to medical staff at entry. Only enough medication for the day is allowed.
– Medications that need inhalation or smoking are prohibited unless in a prescribed inhaler.
– Over-the-counter meds are permitted in a single-day supply. Contents will be verified by medical staff upon entry.

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

– Bags outside the permitted types.
– Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and beauty products.
– Blankets, sheets, towels.
– Coolers of any kind (exceptions for medical use may be made).
– Framed backpacks, multi-pocket backpacks, and others not permitted according to the above guidelines.
– Frisbees.
– All professional audio recording equipment.
– Professional cameras and recording equipment (photos, video, audio) with large detachable lenses, stands, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, or similar equipment not allowed.
– Professional video equipment of any kind. Video recording is prohibited.
– Drones or any remote flying devices.
– Hammocks.
– Glass containers of all types.
– Illegal substances.
– Inflatables.
– Outside food or drink (including alcohol).
– Umbrellas.
– Pets (apart from service animals).
– Selfie sticks.
– Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts, or motorized personal vehicles.
– Tents, canopies, or shade structures.
– Totems or flag poles.
– Unauthorized vendors. Unauthorized solicitation is not allowed, neither is the distribution of handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc.
– Weapons or explosives.
– Fireworks.
– Chains or spiked jewelry.
– Chairs.
– Smoking of any kind, including vaping, is not allowed in Chicago parks.

How to get to Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza is best reached via public transportation. Both CTA and Metra provide multiple access routes to the festival, with extended services to accommodate the large crowds.

CTA’s Red and Blue lines, as well as the elevated lines in the loop, all serve Grant Park. Yellow Line service is being extended to 1 a.m. each night, and various bus lines will connect between Metra trains at Ogilvie and Union Station and Grant Park.

CTA and Metra will post signs directing commuters to the right bus lines to connect to the festival from those stations. There will be bus line re-routes near Grant Park during the festival weekend.

The closest CTA stops to Grant Park are Monroe, Jackson and Harrison on the Red Line; Adams/Wabash and State/Van Buren – Harold Washington Library on the Brown Line; and Monroe, Jackson and LaSalle on the Blue Line.

Parking is available at Millennium Garages in the four garages: Millennium Lakeside Garage, Millennium Park Garage, Grant Park North and Grant Park South.

Biking to the festival is encouraged, and bike parking will be provided south of the main entrance on Michigan Avenue.
