After years of requests from cereal fans, Cheerios has partnered with Ziploc PantrySeal to introduce resealable cereal bags.
The collaboration addresses a familiar household frustration. Ninety percent of cereal consumers say they take additional steps beyond closing the box to keep cereal fresh, including folding or rolling the bag, using a clip or transferring the cereal to a different container.
“General Mills has received letters, emails and DMs asking for an easier way to reseal a cereal box, and we decided it was time to partner with the ultimate freshness brand: Ziploc,” said Emilie Knox, vice president and business unit director for Cheerios at General Mills. “Cheerios with Ziploc PantrySeal takes a small, everyday cereal frustration and finally gives consumers the simple solution they’ve been asking for, making the whole routine easier and more enjoyable.”
The bag is designed to open only partially along the top, creating a convenient pour spout that makes it easier for everyone in the family to fill a bowl. Afterward, the Cheerios with Ziploc PantrySeal bag can be resealed inside the box to help maintain freshness.
