Chicago, Hinsdale police alert of more necklace-snatching robberies in Loop, Chinatown, Near South Side, Edgewater

CHICAGO () — Chicago police are warning residents after a string of robberies in which victims had gold necklaces violently snatched from them in seemingly random attacks.

At least 10 incidents have been reported since July 2, according to police.

Investigators said the robberies have involved one or two suspects, described as being between about 18 and 25 years old.

Police said the suspects have been linked to two vehicles during the crimes: a two-door gray sedan and a green sedan.

A similar robbery was also reported in Hinsdale on Friday around 6:30 p.m. near Washington Street and the railroad tracks, authorities said.

Hinsdale police have released an image of a person of interest as part of their investigation.

Authorities have not said whether the Chicago robberies are connected to the incident in the suburb.

Chicago police said the necklace-snatching incidents occurred at the following locations and times:
