CHICAGO (WLS) — The Chicago Latino Theater Alliance proudly announces the 8th edition of Destinos: Chicago International Latino Theater Festival.

From October 1 to November 2, this year’s festival presents over a dozen theatrical performances, including world premieres, national debuts, and international collaborations, staged across 13 theaters and cultural venues throughout the city and in northwest Indiana.

“We are experiencing times when art is suppressed, voices are muted, and families are divided,” shared Jorge Valdivia, Executive Director of CLATA. “Now, more than ever, sharing our narratives is an act of defiance and strength. This is our way to remember, to combat, and to heal. At its essence, Destinos showcases Chicago’s lively Latine theater community, enhancing our stories and providing essential exposure.”

As a premier festival in the nation celebrating Latino theater, Destinos promotes Latine voices through a diverse array of tales that delve into themes of love, identity, perseverance, and change.

The festival was initiated to endorse, nurture, and honor Chicago’s local talent and has grown into a five-week event that draws artists and enthusiasts from both the U.S. and Latin America.
