A social media investigation has surfaced claims that a Utah Valley University (UVU) professor with alleged CIA ties, Rusty Needs, recently had his online faculty profile scrubbed just days after a controversial appearance by Charlie Kirk on campus.
The video highlights efforts to link the CIA, LDS community, UVU, and Israeli academic institutions, sparking worries about secrecy and the lack of transparency in academia.
The investigator, Rusty Needs, who was until recently listed as a professor in UVU’s CNSS (Center for National Security Studies), disappeared from the public faculty listings between September 24 and September 26, 2025. The purge is said to have included six other staff members associated with national security or event planning for the Kirk event. The university has purportedly removed the entire staff directory, claiming security concerns, while other digital traces have quickly vanished.
Additionally, there are claims that CNSS was involved in planning the Kirk event. University police were reportedly in charge of security, and the abrupt deletions have led to online speculation about a broader cover-up possibly tying academics and institutional connections with intelligence communities.
You can even see on Coursicle you can see that Rusty Needs, taught a course at UVU called “NSS 3050 – US Intelligence Community”.
